El Mexicano Grill

First time visit. The food was great. I had the beef guiso and my wife had enchiladas. The bar side was a little loud, we sat in the dinning area. The wait staff was great, super friendly, great service.

The chicken nachos paired with the chicken tacos were absolutely amazing — flavorful, fresh, and perfectly portioned. The food prices were quite reasonable and offered great value for the quality. However, I found the cocktails to be just okay — nothing particularly special, and the prices were on the higher side compared to the rest of the menu. If you're going mainly for the drinks and are price-conscious, you might want to keep that in mind.

This place was delicious! We dropped in later on a Sunday morning after looking at a bunch of breakfast places, but they all had long wait times. No wait time, served right away, huge portions! Best charro beans ever! We had the al pastor mini tacos, menudo, tacos al carbon, and queso flamedo. All were on point and so good! Try the mixed tortillas, a combination of flour and corn!

We really enjoyed our food here. There was two different salsa (one fresh and one cooked) and the chips where delicious. We ordered the fresh guacamole that was made at our table that was good. Every dish that our family got, they enjoyed them. Some of the best Mexican food that I have had in Texas. The refried beans had a smoke flavor that my daughter didn't like, but I thought they where good. Our server wasn't very on top of taking care of us and we had to hunt her down a few times. Other than that, I would totally go back.

Such a good food spot! I love their margaritas and the street taco plate is my go to dish.

We had such a great experience at El Mexicano Grill! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the space was clean, comfortable, and spacious — perfect for a relaxed meal. The live guacamole was a fun touch! It was made fresh right at our table and completely customizable. We asked for no jalapeños, and they happily adjusted it for us. The burrito was massive and packed with flavor — definitely come hungry! The chicken and steak fajita combo was another standout, with both meats cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Plus, it’s a protein-lover’s dream. And let’s talk about the chips, queso, and salsa — hands down the best I’ve had in a long time! The chips were warm and fresh, and the queso and salsa were both bursting with flavor. We’ll definitely be back!

Excellent food and super friendly service. We ordered Super Cassandra’s Molcajete, it is delicious and abundant food, enough food for two people. Drinks were excellent as well. We had Paloma and Mango Chamoy Margarita, both very good and did not skimp on the alcohol. We definitely visit them again!

What an amazing hole in the wall restaurant. Nothing flashy or elaborate but they make up any unsightly appearances with their amazing food, salsa, fresh corn tortillas, and insanely tender/ flavorful steak. Was blown away by every bite I took. Me and my wife looked at each other and cannot name a Mexican restaurant we have tasted better food at. Highly recommend to anyone in Waxahatchie.
